ViGYAN means science in Sanskrit.

Sudhir Mehrotra saw a need and with colleague Dhanvada M. Rao established ViGYAN, Inc. in 1979 in Hampton, Virginia. Mehrotra had the vision to see that NASA Langley Research Center needed aerospace research and development services that his company could provide. Today our business areas include aeronautics research and development; scientific, engineering, and business software development; computer technology support; and wind tunnel testing services and support. We are a Small Business Association (SBA) certified minority-owned, small disadvantaged business (SDB). We are also members of the Subsonic Aerodynamic Testing Association (SATA).
