Computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
ViGYAN has developed several kinds of advanced CFD program suites and continues to support the use and development of these systems. We have established a CFD laboratory and training facility that is located at our Hampton, Virginia offices.
Space flight systems design and analysis
We have a proven track record of providing software support to analyze spacecraft systems. Our company also supplies programming support for aero/flyability studies, including the development of general purpose and specific computer subroutines of aerodynamics, aeroheating and thermal-protection system models. In addition, we provide programming support for trajectory performance/flyability studies, including the development of general purpose and specific computer subroutine models of guidance and control, aerodynamics, atmospheric and propulsion-system models.
Aircraft flight control systems and flight simulation
The ViGYAN staff has supported a number of transport and fighter aircraft simulation efforts, including control system design, aircraft maneuvering studies, and the development of aircraft control laws. These have been supported in flight tests and by flight simulations.
Flight computer systems
We have established a vigorous analytical and experimental environment to conduct fault-tolerance assessments of advanced critical flight computers in the context of system functionality, implementation and performance assessments of fault/malfunction/failure detection and mitigation strategies, as well as implementation and assessment of advanced, robust adaptive-control methods.
Pilot Weather Advisor
ViGYAN has developed the Pilot Weather Advisor system for the delivery of near real-time weather data to aircraft cockpits. The system was refined for commercial use and is now being sold as WSI Corporation’s WSI InFlight. It won a 2003 R&D 100 award as one of the most technologically significant products introduced that year.
Data Management and Analysis System
With support from NASA and Boeing, ViGYAN has developed a software tool for management of wind tunnel data, known as the Data Management and Analysis System, or DMAS. DMAS establishes a database methodology for the storage and easy retrieval of wind tunnel data for use in analysis and simulation.
